Box 176 Lexington Park, MD 20653 Introduction to our Radio Station Before WGWS, there existed a translator station with a 140' tower behind Calvary Baptist Church located on Pegg Lane in Lexington Park, Maryland. Pastor Ruckman had a vision to build a full power radio station that would reach not only the Lexington Park area, but also the surrounding areas of the Eastern Shore and into Virginia. After filing with the FCC, finding the right tower location was not easy. Two years later, a location was secured in Dameron, Maryland. Assisted by KaraTek International, Pastor Ruckman built and operated WGWS 88.1 FM. After the radio station was on the air he then applied to the FCC to move the translator over to 88.7 FM in order to further extend the outreach of this ministry to our northern neighbors. WGWS is a Christ centered radio station. We are a local church ministry offering godly music as well as King James Bible preaching and teaching that will edify and challenge you to know more about God's Word.
